Dying at this age caused him to surpass the average life expectancy of his time.

The health benefits associated with Pilates has made it increasingly popular among fitness gurus. Yet, oddly enough there is currently a shortage of teachers. This trend opens up a perfect opportunity for individuals who are interested in getting a fitness-related job. Of course, they will need to get training first.

When seeking training, a person must be careful not to get sucked into a scam. This is because there are many so-called Pilates fitness training programs that will give credentials without requiring much work of their 'students'. A real Pilates training program will last longer than a weekend. In fact, if a person is really interested in becoming a Pilates teacher, they will need to undergo a rigorous program that combines hundreds of hours of classroom lecturing and actual physical training.

Additionally, one will need to have a background in anatomy. They will also need to be a certified fitness professional or a licensed rehabilitation practitioner. Indeed, to become a Pilates instructor a person must be as fit intellectually as they are physically.

Popular training institutes include: PhysicalMind, The Pilates Studio, Polestar Education and Scott Pilates. The costs for teacher training for any of these institutions range from $2,600 to $3,500. These prices are not that bad considering, once a Pilates teacher is certified, they can make over $80 an hour.

Once a potential Pilates teacher has finished their training, there are unlimited job opportunities available to them. Many can be found in gyms or aerobics studios, both of which are clamoring for certified instructors. Or, a person could consider starting their own business by offering personal Pilates classes.
